This painting is based loosely on a picture I took about 10 years in New York. It was the wee hours in NYC. The morning sun was tiptoeing from behind, awakening the trees along its way. The girl holding the orange suitcase was waiting anxiously for a cab while the old lady on the side looked on lazily.
